Family Tree Quilt

This was an out-growth of my work on the Federalist Papers.  Since I never studied history until I began studying the Federalist Papers and since Noah and Daniel Webster also were interested in the meaning of the United States Constitution, I wondered if it might be genetic.  So I used the internet to create a family tree.  It was so interesting that I decided to design a quilted wall-hanging that I could make for each of my nieces and my nephew with our family tree on it.  The use of the Irish chain was particularly appropriate since I was unable to find anything about my maternal ancestors who came to the U.S. during the potato famine.

Jude's Quilt

My sister-in-law Jude is a harpist--well, the best harpist in the whole world, actually.  And she's been the best sister anyone could have.  I designed and created this quilt for her while I was still living in my 5th-wheel trailer.  And I hear that it's hanging in her home.

Castle Stars

This was also made while I lived in the trailer.  It's very small.  I really love seeing how fabric creates patterns when "fussy-cut."  Because I'm a relatively new quilt maker, the easiest way for me to do this wall hanging with all the points was to hand sew the whole thing.

Ribbons

I didn't design this quilt.  I started making it while still living in Iowa City and finished it in Eddyville.  Some of my projects just take a little longer than other ones.

My Gardens

Both painting and quilt were done in Eddyville.
